Meet Jerry Durant
Who is Jerry Durant?
Born in 1947, Jerry Durant started working in the automobile business at his father's wrecking yard and later Durant Chevrolet in Granbury, which is father bought in 1960. After graduating from North Texas University, Jerry Durant decided to open Jerry's Chevrolet in Weatherford when he was 22 years old.
Today, the Jerry Durant Auto Group covers 50 acres in Weatherford and proudly sells Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hyundai, and Toyota vehicles. He remains devoted to the Weatherford community, and has won several local awards, including the Weatherford Citizen of the Year, the James Doss Award, and the Weatherford College Carlos Hartnett Award.
In addition to the automobile industry, Jerry Durant is very passionate about racing horses and cutting horses. Durant has earned more than $2 million from cutting horses, including the 2007 NCHA Futurity Open Reserve Championship won by Bubba Matlock and Durant's stallion Desires Little Rex.
Jerry Durant has been married to his wife Vickie for over 40 years. They are proud parents to Brian and Diane, and proud grandparents to Kindel and Andie.
